We have the great pleasure of collaborating with some of the most fabulous artists out there. Our current collaboration is with the incomparable Shane Evans. He is a master metal worker, sculptor and flame effects artist out of Denver, CO.
In our most recent installation, Shane offers his steampunk fire sculptures to brilliantly compliment The Story Portal experience. Each of his pieces have been written into our narrative as inventions of Ezra.
Big Charles is a 16 foot tall fire breathing robot. He spews fire from 14 different locations, all triggered from an interactive controller that participants can captain. In our narrative, Big C is the dragon slayer. Ezra has built him to slay a dragon in order to harvest his psychedelic potion.
The Hate Maker is a fire blowing musical instrument. Imagine a giant, loud, ear piercing flute. Participants sit in Ezra’s Study, at his desk, pushing a panel of buttons. Looking out the window, they see and hear their actions bringing the piece alive with fire and sound. Ezra built The Hate Maker as his distress signal, hoping to get the attention of passing boats and airships.
The Heart is a beautiful 5′ tall wood burning furnace. It is the perfect burn barrel for participants to sit around, connecting into the wee hours of the night and morning. The heart was built by Ezra to represent the love he has for the family he has left behind.
